Cycling For Beginners From Infant To Child

Mastering cycling can be a long journey process, especially for beginners right from the age of infancy. Babies certainly can learn how to get orientated in cycling, starting from the age of 9 months to a year old. Perhaps, the first ways for a beginner to learn cycling is to get be put on front mounted seat. This means strap the infant baby along when the parent or older adult is cycling. By this way, this is a beginner's very first journey to cycling being slowly fulfilled.

For the beginner to really get into the full swing of bicycle, usually at the age of 2 onwards, the toddler child must be better able to manage the bicycle with parental supervision. Actually, the right timing for the beginner to learn depends on the physical and mental development of the child. It also depends on the coordination skill and comfort level of the child when he or she is on the bicycle. Even if the child is only a baby, there is a way to get them to get onto the bicycle.

A type of bicycle which you can introduce to the baby is the balance bike. This is for the beginner to get a sense of the feel for balancing with the bicycle by using their feet to push the bike along. By letting them going through this technique, the baby or young child will slowly build up confidence in balancing a bicycle with safety adhered. Alternatively, you can try the age old type of bicycle with 2 extra wheels, known as training wheels. They instill further confidence for baby beginners who only just begun their physical and mental development not too long ago.

Training your baby child to start riding bicycle as a beginner would involve a crucial process of getting the suitable bicycle to match the child. You have to make it easy for your child to handle the bicycle and control the ride, even with your parental supervision. So you cannot choose a bicycle that is too large for your child.

To get your baby child to start riding with your supervision behind or beside, you can get a baby bicycle. There are bicycles that are of certain height meant for babies. Besides the bicycles for babies, there are also accessories that are meant for that age group.

One of the accessories that babies can use is the baby helmet. It is meant for the safety of the baby. Even for a real child beginner, the bicycle helmet is useful to prevent injuries on the head in case of an accident. There are also toys like the bike horn that can get the attention of the baby when the baby is strapped to the parent so that he will not get distracted.

To supervise your child as a beginner cyclist, start on a quieter walkway away from the congested road. Even if it is a footpath, ensure that there are not many pedestrians walking around or nearby as a busy footpath can affect the child's cycling as a beginner, even if the parent were to supervise along.
